About the Podcast

Mindfully Speaking
50 ways to annoy, bore or simply lose your presentation audience
Mindfully Speaking is a short podcast about speaking in a way people actually remember.

Too many presentations are long, repetitive and forgettable. We live in a world of noise, where everyone is so busy being busy that nobody has time for another long, drawn-out slide deck.

Maurice DeCastro, founder of Mindful Presenter Ltd in London, spent years in the boardrooms of some of the UK's best-loved brands before leaving to help people speak in a way that connects emotionally and intellectually. Episodes are short and practical, and each one is designed to make you think differently about the next time
you stand up to speak.

Maurice DeCastro

After 20 years of senior executive experience with some of the UK's most successful brands I left the board room to embark on a mission to help individuals and organisations present and speak in a way that is refreshingly different and immensely effective.

Mindful Presenter Ltd is the culmination of many years of frustration, curiosity and passion.

Frustration with the way so many highly intelligent, creative and talented business professionals were numbing colleagues and clients with their presentations.

Curiosity - That there must be another way. A way to share knowledge, data and information in a manner that creates a memorable emotional connection as well as an intellectual understanding.

Passion - The unequivocal resolve to find that other way. Presentation skills training and high impact public speaking skills courses and coaching which lead the way in authentic and powerful communication.

Today I coach professionals in the new science of presenting; connecting through presence, empathy and the power of stories.

Mindful Presenter was founded and flourishes on a core belief:

Connecting is everything!
